The new year has arrived and with it has brought new and exciting opportunities. The whole team at Cube are feeling positive about the year ahead and now, with a Government that has a majority in place it is the time to move forward and look to the potential opportunities that will be created.
In just the first week back we already have exciting news to share, two new appointments to our team and a new tooling order win from an industry that we haven’t worked in before.
Last year was a fantastic year for us with an increased order book driven by projects coming through from both the Automotive and Aerospace industries (link to blog), to keep up with demand we have welcomed Adam Iddles, who is a toolmaker and Steve Hackman who is a, machinist onto the team. Adam’s previous experience has been within the Automotive Industry and Steve has more than 20 years experience within both Automotive and Aerospace, both have great skills and experience to bring to our shop floor. This now means that we are starting the year with 48 employees, if our growth continues as expected we hope to be adding more members to the team later in the year.
For the first time we have won a new project within the Horticultural Industry, referred through from an existing customer we will be manufacturing the tooling for a range of metal garden edges. It is a classic steel lawn edging, manufactured from 1.6mm thick galvanised steel to securely anchor into the ground to provide a clean and even edge to paths and flower beds.
Neil Clifton, MD comments ‘As I mentioned on my recent Radio Interview, we’ve had a positive start to the year already with two new team members and an opportunity to work in a new Industry on a project that will hopefully lead to another long-term relationship.
We are feeling positive about the year ahead, now with a majority Government we can move forward and we are focused on embracing the opportunities that will lie ahead, as well as ensuring that we deliver continuity to our existing customers through the hard work and planning that we put in place across 2019. We had a great year in 2019 and we are expecting 2020 to be just as good, if not even better.’
