The best of the Midlands manufacturing and engineering services

At Cube we are passionate about supporting our local area, hence why we use local suppliers and staff to service the world’s leading engineering companies. In 2017, 73% of all our purchases were made from within 40 miles of our West Midlands factory and the products we make are used worldwide.

Due to our strong ethos to support our local area, we have been a proud member of the ‘Made in the Midlands’ peer group since it was established in 2009. ‘Made in the Midlands’ is an industry body that represents more than 400 manufacturing and engineering firms by hosting regular events including one of the largest industry trade shows for manufacturers in the UK, this being the ‘Made in the Midlands Exhibition’.

The annual ‘Made in the Midlands Exhibition’ took place on Thursday 21st June at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena and was the largest exhibition to date with over 300 exhibiting ‘Made in the Midlands’ members (of which Cube was one) and over 2,500 visitors. The day hosted the best of the Midlands manufacturing and engineering services from across a variety of sectors including Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, and rail.

The evening before the exhibition, The Jaguar Lounge at The Ricoh Arena, played host to an ambassadors evening. The event saw new members being introduced and our Managing Director, Neil Clifton was one of several members presented with an award for their commitment to Midlands manufacturing and ‘Made in the Midlands’ ethos.

With the Midlands experiencing the highest growth figures outside of London and the South East, the annual exhibition provided us with the ideal platform for networking with other business owners and also presented us with the opportunity to meet new customers who hadn’t used our services before. A few customers, in particular, were surprised by the size of the aerospace tooling and automotive tooling we manufacture and the scale of projects we manage.

The day also opened doors to new business in the Midlands region for us, as we got the chance to liaise with some potential suppliers that will help to improve our processes and widen our local supply chain.

It was a fantastic few days at the ‘Made in the Midlands’ events, we were able to cement existing relationships and also come away with even more knowledge and exciting new business prospects that we don’t believe we would have gained otherwise.
