At Cube, we employ 37 staff from the local area and we invest time in developing their skills. We have always had an ‘open door’ policy to team feedback and regularly interview our customers post project to ensure we delivered what they require, so that as a company we can continue to evolve to meet our customer’s needs.
As well as our team having a strong work ethic and being able to deliver the best possible service to our customers, we also believe it is important for all our employees to maintain a good working life balance and pursue any recreational hobbies, interests or activities outside of work. A fantastic example of an employee who does this well is our Sales Manager, Kevin Davis.
Kevin has many interests outside of Cube Precision, he is a Manchester United season ticket holder, active fundraiser and DJ.
Music particularly plays an important part in Kevin’s life, having found a love for Ska, Reggae, Motown and Northern Soul music. His love of this type of music even helps to build great client relationships as every time his ringtone plays at work it doubles as a fantastic talking point amongst staff and customers. The song, ‘Dave & Ansell Collins – Double Barrell’ will regularly get everyone singing along when they hear it.
To combine his love for music and fundraising, a year ago Kevin joined his friends in hosting a DJ charity event called ‘Stomper’. The event ‘Stomper’ turned out to be a great success, raising over £800 on their first night for ‘The Poppy appeal’ and ‘Multiple Sclerosis’. The club they hosted the event at loved it so much that they even asked them to do another four events last year.
Today, ‘Stomper’ has got bigger and better with venues selling out every time. By the end of 2017 Kevin and his friends raised over £5000 which was distributed between the following charities:
This year, ‘Stomper’ is looking even busier, they have four set dates at their local club, an all-day ‘Stomper’ event with three live bands in between sets and have been asked by one of the biggest clubs in Broad Street Central Birmingham to do an event for them.
Kevin Davis, comments on his groups fundraising efforts:
“It brings me great joy to be able to share my passion for music with others and raise money for such worthwhile causes while doing this. All the charities we aim to fundraise for are very close to our hearts which is why every single penny raised at our events goes directly to these charities and nobody else earns a penny from it. We just love to see people having a great time and raising money for great causes.”
