3000 jobs and counting!

We are delighted to announce that we have recently booked in our 3000th job here at Cube Precision Engineering! This is a great achievement for us because it represents continued growth from starting out in 2009 as a small engineering startup to becoming an established and well-respected firm with 40+ employees, a majority of which are recruited within 15 miles due to our strong ethos of supporting the local area and the UK as a whole.

Throughout this time, we have been able to take our passion for British engineering and build a business upon capacity, confidence and capability whilst successfully delivering projects across a variety of different industries, including Aerospace, Defence, Automotive and Commercial.

The projects we have delivered all play a significant role in shaping the company that we are today and to celebrate this milestone we would like to share with you our most memorable jobs…

  1. Our first contract – Machining 25 engine protection parts for the rail industry

The only way to begin is with our first ever job we received at Cube on January 16th, 2009 with the order value in excess of £100,000. This particular job was subcontracted by Lordgate Engineering to manufacture an engine protection system for a high-speed train. We carried out four operations to machine a 1.4 x 1 m cast aluminium frame and manufactured our own fixtures for machining and checking operations. This job now continues to be an ongoing contract each year.

  1. Our first ever job for an automotive OEM

We were selected from a number of UK based toolmakers to support Honda and their Swindon die manufacturing facility in order to machine and assemble large blanking die to first close. This project was completed to a tight timescale and was the first of many projects we have completed for Honda, a customer that we still have strong relationships with today.

  1. Our largest single order we have won to date

Our largest single order was for the L462 Land Rover Discovery. The project involved simulation, design, manufacture and tryout of four kits of tools including progression and transfer dies to manufacture the new structural bumper parts for the vehicles.

  1. Our first defence project

Our first ever defence project was for BAE Systems. This project involved machining and packaging in kit from across a variety of CVR(T) vehicles, to tight deadlines. You can find out more about the combat vehicle here:

Neil Clifton, Co-Founder of Cube comments on our latest milestone:

“Our continuous innovation and passion for engineering has helped us to achieve this milestone, but we certainly couldn’t have got here without our extremely talented and hardworking team, who all share the same commitment to serve our clients with excellence.

“We all look forward to seeing Cube continue to grow from strength to strength in the many years to come, whilst continuing to support both the local area and the UK as a whole.”
